It’s frustrating when they just shout slogans at you and will not look at any data or debate. I get “conspiracy theorists” a lot and “Trump loving MAGA far right extremist” for my troubles (I don’t even vote, nor am I in the US?). But I’m starting to realise these people don’t matter. They’re just defending a world view, that if punctured, will bring their mental house of cards crashing down. So they fight on blanking and insulting. Fortunately for me these people DONT matter, that is they have no impact on me or my life and so cutting them off is easy but when these absolutists have real world power - then it’s a problem. Ultimately I suppose, if they won’t come to the table, we must simply move around them. If that’s possible. What is one to do if they won’t even engage in good faith?

It must also be borne in mind that many of the 'awake' have now become just as absolutist as the 'woke' if you question anything that they agree with, or if they maybe have their priorities wrong. One example being all the fuss that the 'awake' are making about vehicular traffic management issues, LTN's etc, whilst ignoring the WHO Pandemic Treaty and its totalitarian implications.

Point taken:) A few words of explanation though... I write a lot about transport and movement because I'm a non driver and can see that LTNs and 15 minute cities in the context of a public transport system that's not fit for purpose don't make any sense. That's not to mention a planning system that up until now, has been based on the assumption of near universal car ownership. I kind of feel that what I write about these issues is increasingly me plowing my own furrow rather than being 'awake' or 'woke'...

Agreed, but one thing that is really bugging me about the 'awake' is their paranoia that there is a big anti-car agenda at play (ignoring that the UK lost its self-sufficiency in oil 21 years ago). I also don't see what's so great about having an urban landscape primarily designed as you've said based on the assumption of near universal car ownership.

Freedom of movement for pedestrians should be a higher priority than for motor vehicles. And it is the WHO Pandemic Treaty that will authorise future lockdowns, making the controversies about vehicular traffic management restrictions irrelevant, just distractions. Yet there have been no large-scale protests yet against that Pandemic Treaty.

There are quite a few of us looking at both these things, not to mention the attempt to abolish cash. And as was pointed out to me in a meeting yesterday, the LTNs are something local people have some power to do something about. I'm keeping on top of the WHO shenanigans as well, but apart from writing to my useless MP I can't do much practically apart from support those like Tess Lawrie and Meryl Nass and James Roguski. So I'd be really grateful if you could share here what else we could be doing in that respect - it would be very helpful. Thanks!

The goal of living is to never be wedded to any ideology. They are all created by man and therefore you have the exact reason why you may look beyond society for your beliefs.

You're right, social media has a lot to answer for. Volumes could be written about it's impact on everything from activism to what it's done to normal social interaction...
