As long as the world is run by governments, there will always be wars. This is the first and foremost desire of any government. They all want to be top dog and don't mind sending their citizens to be murdered by other complying citizens.

I have been a member of Britain's oldest anti war organisation, CND, since 1967.

The most effective British anti-war organisation, Stop the War Coalition, was chaired by Jeremy Corbyn for many years.

Here is a list of all the other organisations which focus on similar issues.

Point taken but...how many of them would be willing to reach out to the more embittered sections of the working class who would be strongly opposed to conscription but, may well harbour dome reactionary sentiments as well?

Reaching out for support from all sections of society has been their life’s work. Their existence was only outside your personal experience because, as with all resistance, anti-war organisations are censored and ignored by main stream media. In other words, anti-war organisations struggle to be seen by the tell-lie-vision addicted audience.

If history is anything to go by Putin will be very measured. I expect a few missile strikes on key areas in Kiev and Odessa. I think it extremely unlikely that Russia will strike outside of Ukraine.

TBH, Putin is the adult in the room at the moment. It's the loose canons in the West who seem to have no historical understanding that worry me...

Russian airbases are legitimate targets, civilians not so much. I agree with you. The EU is behaving recklessly as they use Ukraine as a whipping boy. What happens when Ukraine's army capitulates? Being the cowards they are (EU) I imagine it will all stop.
