And this is why I and so many other disabled people here in the UK rely on bloody PIP. It pays (a) the taxi, (b) the bus fare(s), (c) the supermarket delivery cost of your weekly food! I live in a back to back rented terrace house (with a good landlady, surprise!);no garden, arthritis stops that; retired (age 77). And if I lived in a village, it would be worse (I grew up in one with just 900 people, so I know!). Community gardening is wonderful, a local farmer's market terrific but probably monthly, and neighbours who share and swop even better - but yes. It has to be got going and kept going. Living in a city,as I do, makes it harder. The attacks on disability benefits do not, shall I say, help.

None of this stops me from coughing up for the food bank, or Gaza. It doesn't reduce my rage and fury at the government either. Exactly as you are saying. Keep saying it. Please.

Wealth ain’t flash, it’s food. It’s heat. It’s hugs. It’s staying good. Hustle now just hoards the cold, “Secure the bag,” but freeze your soul. https://open.substack.com/pub/thehiddenclinic/p/the-lost-ledger?r=5hogqp&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true
